Role Description: We seek for an IT Infrastructure Manager to take charge of our technology infrastructure, ensuring its security, performance, and reliability. In this role, you will manage and maintain critical IT systems, including firewalls, routers, servers, and core network services. You will lead a team of IT professionals, ensuring 24x7 system availability, rapid incident resolution, and ongoing optimization. Your responsibilities will include implementing and monitoring security protocols, managing network and server performance, and planning and executing infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with network and server management, a strong knowledge of Linux systems (especially Ubuntu), and proven leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage the organization’s IT infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, servers, and storage systems. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network devices including VLANs, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), NAT, and VPN. Ensure secure and efficient firewall configurations and handle access control, and manage core services such as DHCP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Network Management: Ensure network stability and optimal performance across routing, switching, and wireless networks. Implement, monitor, and improve network performance, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring reliability. Perform capacity planning and network optimization to ensure scalability and future growth.
- Server and Storage Management: Ensure the smooth operation of all physical and virtual servers across both Windows and Linux environments. Manage crucial tasks like backups, disaster recovery, and failover procedures to protect the infrastructure. Additionally, oversee storage solutions to ensure data integrity and availability. A primary duty involves maintaining and troubleshooting Linux servers, especially Ubuntu, including package management, system updates, and kernel optimizations efficiently.
- Security: Implement and manage security protocols and practices to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure. Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN access. Regularly assess security risks and enforce security policies to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Team Leadership and 24/7 Availability: Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, and support staff. Ensure 24x7 availability of IT systems, implementing a robust on-call rotation and escalation procedure. Manage incident response, ensuring timely resolution of critical infrastructure issues. Foster a team culture focused on proactive monitoring, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Project Management: Plan and execute IT infrastructure projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of IT infrastructure with business needs. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively for infrastructure projects.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in network hardware (firewalls, routers, switches), advanced networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, NAT, VLANs), network security, and Linux systems (preferably Ubuntu distribution).
- Leadership and IT Management Expertise: Proven experience in managing a 24x7 IT support environment, with strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
